BAR: Blockwise Adaptive Recoding for Batched Network Coding

Multi-hop networks have become popular network topologies in various emerging Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Batched coding (BNC) is a solution to reliable communications such with packet loss. By grouping packets into small batches and restricting recoding the belonging same batch; BNC has much smaller computational storage requirements at intermediate nodes compared direct application random linear coding. In this paper, we discuss practical scheme called blockwise adaptive (BAR) which learns latest channel knowledge from short observations so that BAR can adapt fluctuations conditions. Due low power remote IoT devices, focus on investigating concerns as how implement efficient algorithms. We also design investigate feedback schemes for under imperfect systems. Our numerical evaluations show significant throughput gain batch sizes existing baseline schemes. More importantly, insensitive inaccurate knowledge. This encouraging result suggests suitable be used practice exact model its parameters could unknown subject changes time time.
